Other Reviews for Till
Death do us Part

Till Death Do Us Part is filled with betrayal, hate, and treachery. I loved
the part when Delphine was finally reunited with her husband. I could almost
see the expression on his face. Ms. Mueller allows the reader to actually
visualize the scene. There were moments I could almost smell the ocean and
feel the attack of the pirates, all the way down to the cannonball striking
the ship. Ms. Mueller brings the characters and the scenery to life, leaving
a lasting impression with her words. Quinn and Delphine are strong
believable characters. This is a worthy read and a complete page-turner.

Anyway, except for some editing problems, I had a good time reading your
interesting short story about a 17th century French woman’s encounter with
ruthless pirates, a pirate hunter sent to track them down and her revenge on
her perfidious husband. And I also liked her revenge on the pirate who held
her captive for two weeks. I must say that certainly put the fear of God
into the pirate hunter’s crew!
You don’t shirk from placing your heroine into a difficult situation nor
making the story as realistic as you can. Good for you. It’s also filled
with an emotional depth that’s hard to achieve in a novella much less a
short story. I’d like to have know a bit more about the hero and perhaps
have had some of the story told from his POV.
Still, I’m interested in reading more of your work if I can manage to figure
out how I got to the place where I bought this one. B for it.

It is always a joy to read a story by
Jennifer Mueller. She writes concise short stories that have lots of
emotion and tension in them. It’s amazing that she packs so much into so
little. Written in the first person, Ms Mueller takes us into Delphine’s
head and we experience the hardship, the betrayal, the humiliation and the
hope of this plucky woman. Ms Mueller gives good insight into the
historical period and the not so glamorous life of the pirate. The setting
is rich and detailed. The reader will be rooting for Delphine until the
end and will sigh with sweet relief and this story’s very satisfying
ending. Thank you, Ms Mueller for a well written escape to another place
and another time.

Mueller is a mistress of the short story. Till Death Do Us Part, in spite of
the length, is a very quick read, a very satisfying read, and it is totally
delightful in its breadth and scope. Jennifer has packed a lot of excitement
behind each corner, as Quinn and Delphine track down her very greedy and
murderous husband in an attempt to bring him to justice. That they become
tangled in and sidetracked by love in the process only adds spice to the
adventure, so sit back and enjoy Till Death Do Us Part. It is available now
from DiskUs Publishing, so go get a copy for your short reads shelf.
