More Reviews for Samburu
Hills

Jennifer Mueller delivers an exciting
tale which captivates the reader's attention immediately. Although rife
with details of the landscape, geography, wildlife, and peoples of Kenya
during the early twentieth century, this story is far better than a
travelogue because all this is viewed as backdrop to the intriguing story
of an independent woman who develops her own self-respect and takes a back
seat to no one, while simultaneously providing for others. Samburu Hills
is a tale which will linger in the reader's memory, and inspire her to
seek out further fiction from this special author.

I just wanted to thank you for sending
me SAMBURU HILLS. It was an excellent read, and I recommend it to all.
It's an excellent story of the horrors of getting stuck in an arranged
marriage, but if that was all, it wouldn't be very special. The real
action begins when the husband dies. This is one of the finest period
pieces I've ever read. Reader

Ms. Jennifer Mueller has done an
incredible work telling this story. The plot is fresh, and the characters
are strong. The more trying her situation, the harder Celeste worked to
make the ranch provide for her, Anthony, and the workers who stayed with
her. She also corresponded with a friend, and Ms. Mueller brought much
information, essential to the story, to the forefront through the letters.
This is a wonderful book; I highly recommend it. You will love it!

B+ from Dear Author
Samburu Hills is a very sweet
and genuine story. Celeste is the ultimate heroine. Instead of giving up,
she takes what is given to her and becomes successful to take care of
herself and her son. Ms. Mueller’s description of Africa is so vivid that
it becomes real to the reader. Samburu Hills is an absolute gem of a
historical romance.

There isn’t anything at all not to like about Samburu Hills. This is an
amazingly well written story, with vivid descriptions, multi-faceted
characters and wonderful dialogue. The use of foreign words and phrases
enriches the reader’s experience. The way Celeste evolves, learning and
growing as her circumstances change, is truly uplifting. The emotional
attachments between Celeste and the servants are heartwarming. I so wanted
her to succeed in Africa, and I felt like I was a part of her journey
every step of the way. Nicholas’ callous indifference was so true to life
I cringed every time he spoke rudely to Celeste. This is a story that will
touch the reader, and stay in the mind long after the last words are read.
Jennifer Mueller’s Samburu Hills is an awesome read!
